Microforce sensor
FEMTO ENGINEERING offers a new generation of microforce sensors based on piezoresistive technology, measuring ranges from 1mN to 100mN with resolutions down to a few µN thanks to an original design and intelligent processing electronics.
These developments were carried out with the support of the AS2M department of the FEMTO-ST Institute.
Two types of geometry are offered, depending on user needs: lateral geometry and axial geometry.
Sensor dimension:
– lateral measurement: length 3 to 5mm
– axial measurement: length at 1mm
The sensor is encapsulated on an electronic card the size of a SIM card, which is connected to a smart card packaging 50 * 30mm. All data is then collected via an ethernet connection. The sensors are also calibrated.

force measurement on any type of object
Examples of possible characterisation:
– instrumentation of prototypes
– MEMS characterisation
– measurement of the mechanical parameters of materials (fiber, composite, etc.)
– manipulation of cells in biology
