This new diagnostic technology allows fuel cell manufacturers to benefit from a non-invasive means of controlling them at the end of the production line and thus ensure the quality of the performances obtained.
Facing the rise of electric vehicles, hydrogen energy represents an option in full development to power vehicles with a long range.
The SHARPAC research team of the Energy Department of the FEMTO-ST Institute in Belfort has developed a new technology for the analysis and detection of defects in fuel cells by magnetic field measurement. By moving magnetic field sensors around the axis of the battery, it becomes possible to identify and locate any internal defects in the battery without having to dismantle it.

A test bench available to manufacturers!
FEMTO Engineering, the engineering center of the FEMTO-ST institute, is developing a measurement bench to carry out tests directly close to industrial production lines. This bench makes it possible to automate the entire measurement chain and automatically analyze the results.
