FEMTO ENGINEERING offers technological bricks in a clean room to help with the manufacture of microfluidic-based medical devices (production of microchannels).
1/ Tangential sorting
FEMTO ENGINEERING has developed a tangential sorting device, in a clean room, to separate white blood cells and red blood cells. This component is a technological brick integrated into a visualization/electronics/interface system developed at the FEMTO-ST institute within the MN2S department.
The device can be produced on glass or silicon wafers. It consists of 2 superimposed channels and a perforated membrane, the measure of its holes measure a few μm in diameter. The length of the channels can reach a few tens of centimeters. It is possible to create several million holes in the microfluidic circuit.

2/ Acoustic sorting
A component for acousting sorting was manufactured in the clean room. Resulting from a collaboration with the FEMTO-ST institute, this technological brick allows to separate lymphocytes from platelets via their size and density. The channel made of silicon is then closed by a glass cover.
Electrodes are then engraved by femtosecond laser to allow the acoustic stimulation of the cells.

As part of the FEDER MIMEDI project, FEMTO ENGINEERING has developed cell sorting devices with the MN2S department of the FEMTO-ST Institute.
The aim of this project is to initiate the development of a manufacturing sector for innovative medicines, the Médis, by reducing the costs of their production.
